I support Australian aid because it saves lives, prevents crises, and makes the world safer – for our neighbours and for Australia.
WHY THIS MATTERS
We are living through uncertain times. Conflict is rising, and more than 300 million people now require humanitarian assistance.
In an interconnected world, these challenges don’t stay distant — they shape the stability and future we all share. But this is not a situation we are powerless in. Every day, Australia is already part of the response through Australian aid:
- Supporting health systems that stop outbreaks before they spread
- Helping communities withstand shocks without tipping into instability
- Ensuring children can access education and girls are safe
And it does all this while making up less than 1% of the Federal Budget.
When people hear that, the response is often surprise — and support. Aid is not just charity. It is a strategic investment.
Early investment reduces the likelihood of far more costly humanitarian and military responses later.
Defence responds to threats. Aid helps prevent them.
THERE IS SOMETHING WE CAN DO
In a world where challenges can feel overwhelming, this is a practical way to respond.
By adding your name, you are helping to show that:
• Australians value compassion and responsibility
• Support for aid exists across communities and the Church
• Backing aid is reasonable and widely supported
When that support is visible, it becomes easier for leaders to protect and strengthen aid over time.
WHAT AUSTRALIAN AID ACHIEVEs
Real impact, every day.
In the last year alone, it has helped:
people receive emergency humanitarian assistance
people improve their food security
women strengthen their livelihoods and economic participation
services support women and girls experiencing violence
